Ask HN: Composable Capabilities?

In unix, you can compose operations by piping text between various tools.

What would it look like to be able to compose capabilities (as in [1]) in the same manner?

For example, if you wanted to build a capability that only allowed read-only access to files in /usr/foo/* in a certain date range?

If capability based security is to ever take off, this will have to be one of the building blocks. I'm having trouble even imagining what kind of syntax or tooling would be required.

UN chief:16 armed groups have responded to cease-fire appeal

Sixteen armed groups have responded positively to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ appeal for a global cease-fire to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, but the U.N. chief said Thursday that mistrust remains high and turning intentions into an end to hostilities is difficult. According to an informal tally kept by the U.N. based on various sources, the 16 armed groups that responded positively are from Yemen, Myanmar, Ukraine, Philippines, Colombia, Angola, Libya, Senegal, Sudan, Syria, Indonesia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
